Chris Evans' Buzz is ready for his mission in a new Lightyear Dolby movie poster for the upcoming Toy Story origin story spinoff.
A new Dolby movie poster sees Chris Evans' Buzz geared up for a new mission for Lightyear. Evans is leading the star-studded cast of the Toy Story spinoff alongside Keke Palmer, Peter Sohn, James Brolin, Taika Waititi, Dale Soules, Uzo Aduba, Mary McDonald-Lewis, Efren Ramirez and Isiah Whitlock Jr. Lightyear hails from Finding Dory co-director Angus MacLane in his feature solo directorial debut on a script he co-wrote with Jason Headley.
Lightyear serves as an origin story for the fictional astronaut that would inspire Tim Allen's action figure from the Toy Story movies. The film will chronicle Buzz's journey as he and a group of Star Command Rangers are marooned on an alien planet and attempt to recreate the hyperspace fuel needed to get him and his crew back home. During a flight test of the fuel, Buzz accidentally travels 62 years into the future and finds himself working with a group of wannabe Rangers to battle the evil Emperor Zurg and his robot army from conquering the galaxy.

In honor of tickets going on sale for the film, Dolby Cinema has released a new Lightyear movie poster. The key art sees Chris Evans' Buzz in his iconic space suit as he looks determined to embark on his new mission. Check out the new poster below:
After initial reservations regarding the film's recasting of Chris Evans for Tim Allen, anticipation has been generally high for Lightyear in the past few months as early reactions praised the emotional first 30 minutes of the Toy Story spinoff movie. Subsequent trailers for the Pixar title have helped build further excitement with looks at a redesigned Emperor Zurg, now a more towering and menacing figure than seen in previous Toy Story films, as well as a mature sci-fi genre approach not previously seen from the animation studio. While the Lightyear Dolby movie poster may not offer much in the way of further reveals for the film's story, it continues the tease of the high-stakes feel to come from the movie.
Lightyear marks multiple firsts for Pixar, one of the most notable being it is the first Pixar film to be getting an exclusive theatrical release since the start of the pandemic, as Jamie Foxx's Soul, Luca and Turning Red all saw Disney+ premieres, much to the chagrin of many working at the studio. Those behind the film also previously revealed Pixar created the first virtual IMAX camera for Lightyear, allowing for some awe-inspiring visual effects from a studio already well-known for their stunning animation. The wait for Lightyear is nearly over as the film soars to theaters on June 17.
