Legacy auto companies are chipping away at Tesla’s formidable early-mover lead in electric vehicles as they introduce new models and ramp up production flows, Automotive News reports. New registrations of full-electric vehicles in the U.S. surged among non-Tesla brands in the first seven months of the year. According to data from Experian, legacy automakers and other startups posted 56% EV growth through July, with 134,644 registrations among 22 brands for a combined 34% segment share. Overall, EV registrations climbed 55% year over year. Through July, EVs accounted for a record 4.9% share of U.S. light-vehicle total registrations vs. 2.6% a year ago… General Motors’ mid-luxury brand Buick will look very different in the next few years if GM leaders get what they quietly desire: a lower dealership headcount in the U.S. and a new consumer shopping experience. Buick and GM’s luxury brand Cadillac will both offer an all-electric lineup by 2030... Ford Motor, citing inflationary pressures throughout the supply chain, said it expects to end Q3 with EBITA of $1.4 billion to $1.7 billion, down from the $3 billion it posted over the same period a year ago. The company’s latest Q3 guidance is also below the FactSet consensus analyst estimate of $2.98 billion.

Kroger is providing employees across Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio, as well as its Fry’s Food Stores division, with free financial counseling as part of a pilot program with Goldman Sachs Ayco. Participants will have access to one-on-one financial coaches as well as online tools and resources... Albertsons has teamed up with housing manager WinnCompanies to deliver prescriptions and groceries to older adults and people living in residential and affordable housing communities. The partnership will also make on-site immunizations available to those who need them.

A Jack in the Box in Chula Vista, Calif., recently added Flippy the French fry-making robot to its kitchen. The robot is expected to address labor shortages and fulfill orders more quickly with uniform consistency. Jack in the Box is looking to add five to 10 robots to make fries in other locations in 2023.

Peloton is adding rowing machines to its product lineup with starting prices at $3,195. Owning the machine also requires a $44 monthly membership to take part in virtual classes offered by Peloton. The company recently announced that it would begin selling some of its products on Amazon.com.

7-Eleven is putting a for-sale sign on more than 70 properties. The Irving, Texas-based convenience store retailer is looking to sell 73 gas stations and/or convenience stores. Of the properties, 33 are located in New Jersey, Massachusetts and New York; seven are in Texas; several are in the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest; and a few are on the West Coast.
